Hackathons are a great opportunity for creative juices to run wild and for the next innovation to be born. Over a short period of time usually 24-28 hours participants are tasked with using a variety of technology and services and fueled by pizza energy drinks and excitement to create something amazing.

At HyperTrack we’ve built a plug-and-play location stack that is truly easy to integrate into not only existing applications but also new ideas. This is why we’re excited to partner with the 2nd Annual Galileo Hackathon put on by the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency or EU GSA for short and provide our location stack. We will be joined by Samsung who will be providing some of their latest devices for the participants to use.

Last year’s hackathon was held in Berlin with attendees able to showcase their coding skills interact with others in the Geo-IoT app community and gain knowledge on what the Galileo location-based services (LBS) brings to the market. This year it will be held over 24 hours in Gdynia Poland along with the Infoshare conference in Gdansk. With the recent go-live of the Galileo location network and new devices and chipsets providing support for it these are exciting times for new innovations.

There are a few prizes to be had:

  • Galileo Innovation – A cash prize of €1000 for the most innovative app using Galileo as source of location information.
  • Galileo Impact – A cash prize of €1000 for the Galileo app with the biggest social impact.
  • Hypertrack Special Prize – A special prize worth €1000 for the app making the best use of our location stack with bonus points for hilarious use-cases!

We encourage you to join us at the hackathon by signing up here.
