CareRev was founded in 2015 by Will Patterson, a former trauma ICU nurse. While working in a various healthcare systems around the country, he noticed a common problem: there was always difficulty matching their supply of healthcare professionals with patient demand in real time. Patterson wanted to make it easier for healthcare facilities to move their own pool of workers between locations and have access to local part-time professionals from other facilities in the area.
When healthcare facilities do not have access to flexible staffing, shifts become short-staffed and patient care suffers, which is a risk to healthcare systems. CareRev’s ability to seamlessly connect the workforce to opportunities within local healthcare facilities positioned the company to address these needs within the healthcare industry and help organizations reduce risk.
After participating in Y Combinator’s accelerator program, CareRev went on to raise $50 million in 2021. This allowed them to build out their platform and team to achieve rapid growth. At this point, CareRev has over 22,000 expert healthcare professionals and over 700 health systems on their platform. With a presence in markets nationwide and partnerships with top health systems such as Providence, Advocate Aurora, SSM Health, Froedtert Health, and many others, CareRev is a leader in workforce technology.
