The Origin Story

Zenjob is a digital staffing platform that connects students and part-time job seekers with temporary work opportunities. Founded in 2015 and based in Berlin, Zenjob operates through a mobile app that allows users to find and book shifts with partner companies quickly and easily.

Fritz Trott, Zenjob CEO, founded the company with two colleagues, inspired by his personal experiences and observations of the job market for students. As a student himself, Fritz experienced firsthand the difficulties of finding suitable part-time work that could fit around his studies. This challenge was shared by his co-founders, Cihan Aksakal and Frederik Fahning.

The three founders were driven by the idea of using digital technologies to improve the world of work in a lasting way. They wanted to create a solution that would give people more control over their work lives, allowing them to decide when and how often they wanted to work.

Now, in less than 10 years since its founding, Zenjob has roughly 300 employees, with operations in over 39 German cities, with plans for European expansion. Every month, Zenjob matches more than 20,000 workers with part-time jobs from over 1,000 companies from various industries such as logistics, hospitality, and retail.

Zenjob’s technology selects the most suitable applicant based on the job seeker’s experience, preferences, and location; the shift is then booked by Zenjob’s technology.
