After a decade of collaborating with healthcare organizations to design and implement a variety of workforce solutions, Robert realized a better solution was indeed possible. One that empowers facilities and clinicians to directly and transparently come together without a middleman, and allows facilities to pay their clinicians more while still saving hundreds of dollars per shift.
It wasn’t long before fellow industry veteran Suzanne Masino was also convinced that this was in fact a better way. They combined years of industry experience to build a marketplace that empowers healthcare organizations to directly build, organize, and engage their own flex workforce. One that streamlines hiring, validates licensing and credentialing, and leverages AI to optimize matches and the worker’s experience.
In July 2022, Matchwell was acquired by Medical Solutions, one of the largest healthcare staffing providers in the U.S., further expanding its reach and capabilities.
In 2024, Crowe spearheaded the launch of state-wide resource pools, including partnerships with the Indiana Hospital Association and the Illinois Health and Hospital Association, to address workforce supply issues in healthcare.
Robert Crowe's innovative approach to healthcare staffing continues to shape the industry, focusing on transparency and efficiency of enabling healthcare facilities to build internal talent pools.
“I don't recommend healthcare systems go build their own proprietary technology. Too much technology already exists out there, you know. So go find partners. Go find the technology components that you can embrace and use to manage your float pools, to manage your access to manage contract work, etc, you know, think, you know, kind of like an internal agency, but you know all that technology exists, so just go find the partners, and with a press of a button, you can now uberize your workforce.”
